In this episode, we're diving deep into the strategies and systems you need to put in place to make sure your clients reach their desired outcomes, and how that, in turn, guarantees the growth and sustainability of your own business.

Welcome to another episode of the *Lifestyle Business Quest Podcast*. I’m Travis Greenlee, your host, here to guide you on the journey to building a thriving lifestyle coaching business that not only changes lives but also allows you to live the life you’ve always dreamed of. Today, we’re tackling a crucial topic: how to ensure your clients' success in achieving their goals. This isn’t just about helping them reach their milestones; it’s about creating a sustainable business model where your success is intertwined with theirs.

Here’s the truth: when your clients win, you win. Every time a client achieves their goals, it not only validates the work you do, but it also strengthens your reputation as a coach. Their success stories become your success stories, and nothing builds a coaching business faster than proven results. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping over 5,000 clients achieve significant success—many of them building $250,000 per year businesses. This commitment to creating client successes has been the key to my own long-term success and sustainability as a coach. Because of this, I’ve enjoyed a 25-year career dedicated to serving others and helping them live more fulfilling lives. Today, we’ll explore how our unique Personal Coaching Accountability Course Model plays a pivotal role in this process, along with sharing the success stories of Jon, Jen, and Bill.

Setting clear, achievable goals is the foundation of any successful coaching relationship. Without clear goals, clients can feel lost or overwhelmed, which can lead to frustration and burnout.

1. Start with the Big Picture: Begin by asking your client what their ultimate vision is. What do they want to achieve in the long term? This helps you both understand the broader context of their goals.

2. Break it Down: Once you have the big picture, break it down into smaller, actionable steps. For example, if their goal is to build a $250,000 per year business, what milestones need to be hit along the way? This could include monthly revenue targets, number of clients, or specific projects completed.

3. Set SMART Goals: Ensure each goal is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound. For example, instead of saying “grow my business,” set a goal like “Increase monthly revenue by 20% in the next 6 months by acquiring 10 new clients.”

4. Document the Goals: Write down these goals and share them with your client. Having a documented plan provides a reference point for both of you and helps keep the focus on what matters most.

5. Regularly Revisit Goals: As you progress, revisit these goals with your client. Are they on track? Do the goals need to be adjusted based on new information or circumstances? This helps keep the coaching process dynamic and responsive.

Jon’s Journey to Clarity:
Jon came to me feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about his next steps. He had big dreams but no clear path to achieve them. We started by breaking down his goals into specific, actionable steps. Through our sessions, Jon was able to define what success looked like for him and created a detailed plan to get there. The clarity he gained allowed him to focus on what truly mattered, and within months, Jon had not only reached his initial goals but was already setting new, higher targets. Jon’s success didn’t just help him—it also boosted the credibility and impact of my coaching business. When Jon won, I won.

Accountability is the glue that holds the coaching relationship together. It’s what turns intentions into actions and ensures that clients stay committed to their goals.

This is where our Personal Coaching Accountability Course Model truly shines. It’s a hybrid approach that combines the structure and scalability of a course with the personalized touch of one-on-one coaching. The course includes training videos, worksheets, and step-by-step modules that guide your clients through the process. But we don’t stop there. We complement this with personalized coaching sessions that provide individual feedback and accountability.

This model allows your clients to know exactly what they should be working on at any given time, ensuring they are as effective and productive as possible. They benefit from a clear structure while still receiving the personal support they need to overcome challenges and stay on track.

Here are a few actionable tips:

1. Establish a Regular Check-in Schedule: Set up regular, non-negotiable check-ins—whether weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on your client’s needs. These should be a mix of formal sessions and informal check-ins, like quick emails or texts.

2. Use Accountability Tools: Implement tools like shared progress trackers, Google Sheets, or project management software where both you and your client can update and review progress. This visual representation of progress is highly motivating and helps keep everyone on the same page.

3. Create Action Plans: At the end of each session, create a clear action plan for your client. This plan should include specific tasks to be completed before the next session, along with deadlines. For example, “Reach out to 10 potential clients by next Friday” or “Complete the first module of the course by the end of the week.”

4. Incorporate Rewards: Encourage clients to set up small rewards for themselves as they complete tasks or hit milestones. This could be as simple as treating themselves to something they enjoy. Positive reinforcement keeps motivation high.

5. Track and Celebrate Progress: Regularly track and celebrate even the smallest victories. This could be a quick shoutout during your check-ins or a more formal acknowledgment at the end of a session.

Jen’s Transformation Through Accountability:
Jen was a driven entrepreneur but often found herself distracted and struggling to maintain momentum. With our hybrid course model, she had the structure of a well-designed course, complete with video lessons and actionable worksheets, combined with regular personalized coaching sessions. This combination kept Jen focused and on track. The difference was night and day—she went from feeling stuck and overwhelmed to consistently hitting her milestones and seeing real progress in her business. Jen’s wins directly translated into my wins as her coach. Her success became a powerful testimonial for the effectiveness of my program, attracting more clients who saw the tangible results of my coaching.

And it’s not just the clients who benefit. As a coach, this model allows you to leverage your time more effectively. The course and structure do 95% of the heavy lifting, meaning you can spend less time on the repetitive aspects of coaching and more time doing what you love—whether that’s deep diving into specific client challenges or enjoying more personal time. This win-win approach means your clients receive better support and results than ever before, while you enjoy greater freedom and satisfaction in your work. When clients see results, they become your best advocates, driving referrals and bolstering your business.

Regular check-ins are essential for maintaining momentum and ensuring that clients stay on track. They provide opportunities to celebrate wins, address challenges, and adjust strategies as needed.

1. Set Consistent Check-in Times: Whether it’s a weekly call, bi-weekly meeting, or a monthly review, consistency is key. These regular touchpoints keep clients accountable and help maintain focus.

2. Prepare for Each Check-in: Before each session, review the client’s progress, challenges, and upcoming goals. This preparation allows you to make the most of your time together and provide targeted support.

3. Focus on Wins and Challenges: Start each check-in by celebrating what’s gone well since the last meeting. Then, dive into any challenges or roadblocks the client is facing. This balanced approach keeps the focus on progress while addressing issues that need attention.

4. Update Action Plans: After discussing the client’s progress, update their action plan with new tasks, deadlines, and goals. This keeps the momentum going and ensures that the client always knows what to work on next.

5. Use Check-ins as a Time to Adjust: If the client is falling behind or struggling with certain tasks, use the check-in to adjust the plan. This might mean setting more realistic goals, providing additional resources, or shifting priorities.

Bill’s Consistency in Achieving Goals:
Bill was someone who had the ideas and the drive but struggled with consistency. He’d often start strong but lose momentum over time. Through regular check-ins and a consistent accountability structure, Bill began to see significant changes. The weekly touchpoints kept him engaged and motivated, and soon enough, he was hitting his targets with regularity. Bill’s success didn’t come from a lack of effort—it came from having a consistent system to keep him on track. And every milestone Bill reached not only advanced his business but also reinforced the value of my coaching program, proving that structured accountability leads to real results.

Every client is different, and their paths to success will vary. As a coach, it’s vital to provide personalized support tailored to each client’s unique needs.

1. Develop a Resource Library: Create a collection of tools, templates, worksheets, and guides that your clients can access at any time. This empowers them to take action independently while still benefiting from your expertise.

2. Tailor Your Advice: During one-on-one sessions, focus on the specific challenges and opportunities unique to each client. Offer personalized advice and resources that address their particular situation.

3. Offer Flexible Support: Some clients may need more hands-on support, while others might thrive with a more hands-off approach. Be adaptable and willing to adjust your coaching style to meet each client’s needs.

4. Create Personalized Action Plans: Beyond general goals, work with your clients to create personalized action plans that reflect their strengths, weaknesses, and specific circumstances.

5. Use Feedback Loops: Regularly solicit feedback from your clients on what’s working and what’s not. Use this feedback to continuously improve your coaching and better meet their needs.

Celebrating wins builds momentum and reinforces positive behavior, while analyzing setbacks provides opportunities for growth and course correction.

1. Incorporate Regular Celebrations: Make it a habit to celebrate wins, big and small, during your check-ins. This could be as simple as verbal recognition or as elaborate as a written acknowledgment or a reward.

2. Create a “Win of the Week” Ritual: Encourage clients to share their biggest win of the week during your sessions. This keeps the focus on progress and motivates them to keep pushing forward.

3. Conduct Post-Mortems on Setbacks: When a client encounters a setback, take the time to analyze what happened. What can be learned? How can the strategy be adjusted to prevent similar issues in the future?

4. Document Lessons Learned: Keep a running list of lessons learned from both wins and setbacks. This documentation can serve as a valuable reference for future decision-making.

5. Turn Setbacks into Opportunities: Reframe setbacks as opportunities for growth. Use them as teaching moments to help your clients develop resilience and problem-solving skills.

Jon’s Progress After a Setback:
Jon hit a significant setback when an unexpected challenge derailed his progress. Instead of letting it discourage him, we took the time to analyze what happened and adjusted his strategy accordingly. This setback actually became a turning point—Jon learned valuable lessons that helped him move forward even stronger. By celebrating his resilience and adapting his plan, Jon was able to overcome the obstacle and achieve his goals. His breakthrough wasn’t just a win for him—it was a demonstration of the effectiveness of the coaching process, which in turn strengthened my reputation as a coach who can help clients navigate even the toughest challenges.

Clients thrive when they feel supported not just by you, but by a community of like-minded individuals. A supportive community provides additional encouragement, accountability, and opportunities to learn from others.

1. Create a Community Platform: Whether it’s a Facebook group, a Slack channel, or regular group coaching sessions, provide a space where your clients can connect and support each other.

2. Facilitate Community Engagement:Encourage clients to share their progress, ask questions, and offer support within the community. This fosters a sense of belonging and collective growth.

3. Host Regular Group Sessions: Schedule group coaching sessions or webinars where clients can learn from each other’s experiences and gain insights from the group.

4. Highlight Success Stories: Use your community platform to highlight client successes. This not only motivates the successful client but also inspires others.

5. Provide Exclusive Content: Offer your community members exclusive content, such as additional resources, guest expert sessions, or early access to new programs.

To ensure your clients' success, it’s crucial to set clear goals, maintain consistent accountability, offer personalized support, celebrate wins, and foster a community. Our Personal Coaching Accountability Course Model combines the best of both worlds—the structure of a course and the personal touch of coaching—to create an environment where clients can thrive. This hybrid approach not only guarantees better outcomes for your clients but also allows you, the coach, to enjoy more personal time while delivering exceptional results.

When your clients succeed, you succeed. Their victories become your victories, enhancing your credibility, attracting more clients, and ultimately growing your business.
