What if I told you that the biggest thing holding you back from growing a $250K coaching business isn’t a lack of clients, time, or strategies, but your beliefs about money? So many coaches, myself included, have been trapped in self-limiting beliefs around what we’re worth and what’s possible for us.

Today, I’m diving deep into how you can break free from those money blocks and step into an abundance mindset that will allow you to grow a thriving, freedom-filled business.

Welcome to the Lifestyle Business Quest Podcast! I'm Travis Greenlee your host and I’m excited about today’s episode because we’re diving into one of the most critical mindset shifts you can make to grow your coaching business: overcoming self-limiting beliefs around money.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re undercharging for your services, or worried about asking for higher rates, or constantly hustling to find the next client because you fear there won’t be enough opportunities, then this episode is for you.

I’ve been there myself. Early in my career, I struggled with deep-rooted money blocks that kept me playing small and undervaluing my work. It wasn’t until I faced those limiting beliefs head-on and started thinking differently about money that everything changed. And that’s when my business really took off.

Today, I’m going to share my personal journey, along with the stories of three incredible coaches—Brin, Bailey, and Shelly—who each overcame their money blocks and built thriving $250K coaching businesses. By the end of this episode, you’ll have the tools to recognize your own money blocks, reframe them, and move forward with confidence and clarity.

The goal of today’s episode is to help you break free from the limiting beliefs around money that are keeping you stuck. These beliefs show up in many ways—whether it’s the fear of charging what you’re worth, feeling guilty about making money, or worrying that there aren’t enough clients or opportunities out there.

Here’s the truth: those beliefs aren’t real. They’re just stories we’ve picked up along the way, and they can be reprogrammed. I’ll show you how to identify these money blocks, reframe them, and create an abundance mindset that will allow you to grow your business and finally experience the freedom you’ve been seeking.

By the end of this episode, you’ll have three practical steps to start shifting your mindset and taking your business to the next level.

Let me take you back to when I first started as a coach. I was passionate, driven, and committed to helping others, but I was completely stuck in a scarcity mindset. I constantly worried about whether I’d have enough clients, if I could keep my business going, or how I’d pay the bills each month. Every decision I made came from a place of fear—fear of losing clients, fear of charging more, fear that I wasn’t good enough to succeed.

I was undercharging for my services because I didn’t believe I was worth more. Deep down, I thought raising my rates would scare clients away. So, I kept my prices low, worked longer hours, and accepted projects that weren’t aligned with my vision just to stay afloat.

But here’s what I didn’t realize back then: that scarcity mindset was making everything harder. I was stuck in a cycle of overwork and under-earning. And the worst part? I couldn’t see a way out because I believed this was just how it had to be.

The turning point came when I started to look at my relationship with money. I realized that my thoughts about money were shaped by past experiences and society’s conditioning—ideas like “money is hard to come by” or “you have to struggle to succeed.” But here’s the thing: those beliefs weren’t true. They were keeping me in a box, and I had the power to change them.

I began to reframe my money story. I started to see money as a tool—not as something that defined my worth or something I had to chase, but as a resource that could help me amplify my impact. I shifted from thinking in terms of scarcity to thinking in terms of abundance. Instead of worrying about where my next client would come from, I started believing there were more than enough opportunities out there for me.

As I made this shift, I raised my rates to reflect the value I was providing. At first, it was terrifying, but I quickly realized that my clients didn’t leave. In fact, they respected the higher rates because they saw the value I was delivering. And what’s more, they were getting better results because they were more invested in the process.

Moving from scarcity to abundance didn’t just grow my business—it gave me freedom. The freedom to say no to projects that didn’t align with my goals, the freedom to focus on serving my clients at the highest level, and the freedom to live the life I wanted. I went from struggling to make ends meet to growing a multi-million dollar business and helping over 500 other coaches do the same—helping them grow $250K coaching businesses.

It was never about the money. It was about the freedom that comes with abundance—the freedom to serve at your highest level, to make an impact, and to live in alignment with your purpose.

Brin’s story is one that so many coaches can relate to. She was incredibly passionate about her work, but she was undercharging because she didn’t believe clients would pay more. When we first started working together, she was charging what she thought her clients could afford, rather than what her services were worth.

She had a deep-rooted belief that if she raised her rates, she would lose clients or they wouldn’t see the value. Even though Brin was delivering life-changing transformations for her clients, she struggled to recognize her own value. Her self-talk was filled with doubt: Who am I to charge more? What if people don’t think I’m worth it?

This belief led to a vicious cycle of over-delivering and undercharging. Brin was pouring countless hours into her clients, but she wasn’t being compensated for the value she was providing. It was exhausting, and she was burning out.

We started by shifting Brin’s mindset around pricing and value. I helped her understand that her rates weren’t just about the time she spent with clients—they were about the transformation she was providing. Once Brin recognized that the impact she had on her clients’ lives was priceless, she gained the confidence to raise her rates.

But this didn’t happen overnight. Brin had to push through her fear of losing clients and her doubts about whether she was “worth” the higher rates. She had to trust that by aligning her prices with the value she delivered, she would attract clients who truly valued her work.

And that’s exactly what happened. When Brin doubled her rates, her clients didn’t push back. In fact, they saw the higher rates as a reflection of the high-quality service and transformation she provided. Within six months, Brin’s income had tripled, and she was finally working with clients who were fully committed to their growth.

The key to Brin’s success wasn’t just raising her prices—it was the belief in her own worth. By stepping into her value and overcoming her money blocks, she built a thriving business that aligned with the true transformation she offered her clients.

Bailey’s story is all about shifting from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset. When Bailey and I first connected, she had been running her coaching business for a few years, but she was stuck in a cycle of fear and overwork.

Bailey believed that there weren’t enough clients, opportunities, or resources to go around. This scarcity mindset made her feel like she had to take on every client that came her way, even when they weren’t a good fit. She was constantly hustling, taking on clients who drained her energy, and feeling stuck in a business that wasn’t growing.

When we began working together, I helped Bailey reframe her money story and her approach to clients. I encouraged her to believe in abundance—to trust that there were more than enough clients out there who valued her work and were willing to invest in her services.

This was a huge mindset shift for Bailey. She had to learn how to say no to clients who weren’t aligned with her vision and trust that the right clients would come. And they did. Once Bailey made that shift, she began attracting clients who respected her boundaries, paid her rates without hesitation, and were excited to work with her.

Within a year, Bailey had doubled her revenue and was working with clients who energized her rather than drained her. She no longer felt the need to hustle constantly. She was operating from a place of abundance, and her business grew as a result.

Bailey’s transformation shows the power of shifting from scarcity to abundance. When you let go of the fear that there isn’t enough, you open yourself up to unlimited opportunities.

Shelly’s story centers on overcoming guilt around money. She was an incredibly talented coach, but she felt guilty about charging more or focusing on growing her income. Shelly believed that if she made too much money, she’d be losing sight of her mission to help people.

This guilt kept her business small. Shelly was discounting her services, offering free sessions, and avoiding raising her rates because she felt that making money was at odds with her purpose. But the truth was, Shelly was burning out and her business wasn’t sustainable.

When we started working together, I helped Shelly reframe how she saw money. I helped her understand that money is a tool. The more money she made, the more she could invest in her business, hire support, and ultimately serve her clients better.

Once Shelly released her guilt around making money, she raised her rates and set clear boundaries with her clients. She began to realize that earning more allowed her to give more. Her clients respected her rates, and within a year, Shelly’s revenue grew to over $200,000. She no longer felt guilty about making money because she understood that it allowed her to serve at her highest level.

Shelly’s transformation shows that when you let go of guilt around money, you can create a business that is both profitable and aligned with your purpose.

So, what can we take away from today’s episode? Your relationship with money plays a huge role in the success of your coaching business. Whether it’s undercharging, operating from scarcity, or feeling guilty about earning more, these money blocks can keep you stuck.

But the good news is, you can overcome them. Brin, Bailey, and Shelly all broke free from their money blocks, and they’ve built thriving $250K businesses that give them the freedom to serve their clients at the highest level. And you can do the same.

Here are three practical action steps you can take right now to shift from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset, so you can grow a thriving lifestyle coaching business that enhances the lives of your clients while giving you more time, freedom, and peace of mind.

1. Reframe Your Money Story

- Take a close look at the limiting beliefs you have around money. Write them down. Then, actively reframe those beliefs into ones that support abundance. For example, replace “There’s never enough clients” with “There are more than enough clients who value what I do.”

- Write down three limiting beliefs you have about money and reframe them with empowering beliefs. Read them daily until they become your new truth.

2. Practice Gratitude for What You Have

- Shift your focus from what’s lacking to what’s abundant. Start a daily gratitude practice where you acknowledge the clients, opportunities, and resources you already have in your business.

- Each day, write down three things you’re grateful for in your business. This simple practice will help you see the abundance around you.

3. Set Boundaries and Say No to Misaligned Clients

- Scarcity often leads us to say yes to every client, even when they aren’t a good fit. Start setting clear boundaries about who you work with and trust that saying no will create space for the right clients to come into your business.

- Define your ideal client profile and commit to only working with clients who align with your vision and values. Say no to anyone who doesn’t fit, trusting that the right opportunities will come.
