This isn’t just a daydream; it’s a reality you can build when you design your business and life around a powerful, deeply aligned vision. Today, we’re going deep into how to craft and manifest a vision that transforms not just your business, but your entire way of living.
welcome to the lifestyle business quest podcast! I'm Travis Greenlee, your host and I’m so excited for this episode because we’re talking about something foundational—vision. And I don’t mean vision in the way it’s often talked about, like goal setting or creating a plan for your business. I’m talking about going deeper—about building a vision that aligns with your core desires, one that becomes the blueprint for your life and business. A vision that is so clear and emotionally charged that it not only guides your actions but transforms the way you think, feel, and show up every day.
Today, I’m going to share with you the stories of clients who completely shifted their lives and businesses through the power of vision—Peter, Margie, and Kara, who learned that vision isn’t something that lives in your head. It’s something you feel in your body, something you embody even before the external results show up. We’ll also draw on the wisdom of authors like Napoleon Hill, Stephen Covey, and Dr. Joe Dispenza to really explore the science and philosophy behind manifesting your vision. And by the end of this episode, you’ll have three practical action steps to start creating and *living* your vision today. Ready? Let’s dive in.
Let’s start with the big idea: Vision is not just a goal you write down. It’s much deeper than that. Vision is your internal GPS. It sets the direction for your life and business, but here’s the key—it’s not just about knowing where you want to go. It’s about feeling it in your body and letting that feeling drive your actions. The clearer and more emotionally connected your vision is, the more powerful it becomes.
Napoleon Hill, in Think and Grow Rich, wrote that “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Now, I want to take this deeper because it’s not just about conceiving an idea. You need to truly believe it in every fiber of your being. It’s the belief behind the vision that turns it into reality. This is where most people get stuck—they may have a vague idea of what they want, but they don’t fully believe it’s possible for them, so their actions and energy don’t align with the vision.
This is exactly what happened with Peter, one of my clients. Peter was stuck in a high-paying corporate job that drained his energy. He had this dream of building a coaching business that would give him more time with his family, but that dream was fuzzy. He didn’t really *believe* it was possible for him, so he was stuck in a cycle of wanting change but not knowing how to move forward.
When we started working together, I asked Peter to go beyond just wanting “more freedom.” I asked him to get specific: What does freedom look like for you? What does it feel like? How do you spend your mornings? Who are your clients? As Peter started to paint a clearer picture of his vision, he began to feel that freedom in his body. He could feel the energy shift when he talked about coaching clients from home, spending mornings with his kids, and feeling in control of his time. Once Peter connected emotionally to his vision, he started embodying that feeling, even before he left his corporate job. He showed up as the coach he wanted to become, and within months, he transitioned out of his job and built a thriving coaching business.
The lesson here? Your vision isn’t just something you think about—it’s something you become. You have to embody the feeling of your future success now for it to manifest.
Now, let’s go deeper into the "Be, Do, Have" philosophy. This is a game changer when it comes to making your vision real. Most people think, “Once I have the money, clients, or freedom, then I’ll start doing the things that will make me happy, and finally, I’ll be the person I want to be.” But that’s completely backwards.
Stephen Covey, in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, teaches us to begin with the end in mind. But this doesn’t just mean seeing the end goal. It means *being* the version of yourself who already has the life and success you desire. Right now. Today. Before the evidence shows up in your reality.
This is where Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work in Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself comes in. He explains that your brain can’t tell the difference between a vividly imagined experience and reality. When you start feeling like the version of yourself who already has the clients, the money, and the freedom, your brain begins to rewire itself to align with that future. It’s not just visualization—it’s emotional embodiment. When you live in the energy of your future self, your subconscious mind aligns with that energy and starts creating the circumstances that match it.
Margie, another client, learned this lesson in a powerful way. Margie was already successful—on paper, her coaching business was thriving. But she was overworked, overwhelmed, and not living the life she truly wanted. She wanted to cut back her hours, raise her rates, and work with high-ticket clients, but she was stuck in the belief that she had to hustle hard to maintain her success. She wasn’t being the coach who had boundaries and freedom. She was being the coach who said yes to everything, afraid that if she didn’t hustle, she’d lose clients.
When we started working together, I asked Margie to embody the version of herself who had already achieved the freedom she wanted. What would that version of her say yes to? What would she say no to? How would she set boundaries and manage her time? Margie started showing up as the coach who worked with high-paying, aligned clients. She raised her rates, set clear boundaries, and started saying no to clients who weren’t a fit. The result? She began attracting the exact clients she wanted, worked fewer hours, and made more money than ever before.
The key here is to become the person who already has what you want. You can’t wait for success to show up before you start living like that version of yourself. You have to embody it now.
Let’s shift to another essential piece of the puzzle—aligned action. Kara’s story is all about taking action that aligns with your vision, not just doing more for the sake of being busy. Kara was like a lot of entrepreneurs—working long hours, saying yes to every client and opportunity, but feeling drained. She was doing a lot but wasn’t moving closer to the life she wanted because her actions weren’t aligned with her vision.
When we worked on Kara’s vision, we got clear on what she truly wanted. She wanted more impact, but she also wanted more time for herself. She wanted to spend less time on admin work and more time serving clients who were aligned with her values. Once Kara got crystal clear on that vision, she realized that much of what she was doing daily wasn’t moving her toward that goal. She was reacting to what was urgent instead of focusing on what was important.
This is where aligned action comes in. Kara started filtering her decisions through the lens of her future vision. She outsourced tasks that didn’t require her attention, stopped taking on clients who drained her energy, and focused on high-impact work. The result? Kara’s business grew, her income increased, and she found more time for herself. By aligning her actions with her vision, she stepped into the life she truly wanted.
Aligned action is key because it’s not just about working hard—it’s about working intentionally. It’s about asking yourself every day, “Does this move me closer to the vision of my future self, or is it just keeping me busy?” When you act in alignment with your vision, you create momentum that pulls you toward the life you want.
Now that we’ve explored the deeper side of vision through Peter, Margie, and Kara’s stories, let’s get into the three practical steps you can start using today to create and live your vision.
The first step is to get crystal clear on your vision, but not just in terms of what you want to achieve—focus on how you want to feel. Spend time visualizing your ideal day, your ideal clients, and your ideal lifestyle. But don’t stop there. Attach emotions to those visuals. How do you feel when you wake up? What does freedom, success, and fulfillment feel like in your body? The more emotionally connected you are to your vision, the more powerful it becomes. Like Peter, get specific about how you want to feel in every aspect of your life.
Step Two: Embody the Future You Now. This step is where the transformation happens. Start showing up as the person who already has the life you want. How does that version of you think, feel, and act? What decisions would they make? Margie started embodying the high-level coach she wanted to be before she saw the external results, and her reality caught up to her energy. You can do the same. Ask yourself every day, “How would the future version of me handle this situation?” and act from that place.
Step Three: Take Aligned Action Every Day. The third step is about taking action, but not just any action—aligned action. Look at your calendar and ask yourself, “Are these tasks moving me closer to the life I want, or are they just keeping me busy?” Kara learned that by focusing on what truly aligned with her vision, she could work less and achieve more. Be intentional with your time and energy, and make sure that everything you do is in service to the bigger picture of your vision.
Vision isn’t just something you think about—it’s something you live, breathe, and embody every single day. It’s the foundation of everything you create in your business and life. When you get emotionally clear on your vision, embody your future self, and take aligned action, you step into a life where success and freedom flow naturally.
